As for "Kinesiology", this program is one of the four departments under the College of Applied Health Sciences at UIUC. There are four major fields: Biological Kinesiology, Speech and Hearing Science, Recreation, Sport and Touri *** , and Interdisciplinary Health Sciences. In addition, most graduate students and most master's degree candidates at UIUC receive between 25% and 50% of their full-time equivalent assistantships, which are scholarships provided by many US schools. As for assistantships, students generally get up to 10 hours per week and may take up to 20 hours per week, depending on whether they are assistantships for research or teaching assistants. Assistantships for research assistants or teaching assistants typically involve helping with lab work, grading assignments, or delivering lectures on their own.
